Richard was born and raised in Edison, New Jersey. He graduated from Lehigh University, where he played Lacrosse. During college, Richard interned at the United States Department of Justice, working in the environment and natural resource division. Richard attended law school at the Florida Coastal School of Law and graduated in 2007. During law school, Richard participated in an externship, working for Jacksonville University Atheltic Department Complaince Office. Richard assisted on cases with the NCAA dealing with eligibility issues, medical hardships and appeals for student-athletes.

Richard previously worked at the Lydecker Diaz Law Firm in Miami and his area of practice include first party claims, bodily injury claims and property damage claims.

Richard is married to his wife Kim. He enjoys playing golf and is an avid sports fan with his favorite teams being the New York Giants and New York Mets.
